Harry was he, a mighty man,
Dry those tears, you will get through.
The hurt will ease, I know it can,
Remember that he lives with you.
He used to tell exciting tales,
We’d be tucked in; he’d be on cue.
Shipped off now on eternal sails,
Although he’s gone, he lives in you.
A man of God with a lion heart,
He’d never roar; he’d keep his cool.
The Lion’s soul at peace; departs,
Know that from love, he lives in you.
He served his friends from all around,
Humble, kind, always spoke true.
Was loved by all, he had no bounds,
Forever more, he lives in you.
Devoting his life and love to Joan,
Though when she passed, he soldiered through.
A man of faith down to the bone,
Look up and see, he lives in you.
Sharp and wise yet gentle and fair,
His words were never misconstrued.
Inspired by knowledge he would share,
Do not forget, he lives in you.
These words I wrote from me to you,
Go now, set sail, walk on, be free.
Perhaps we’ll meet in a life or two,
But now Grandpa you live in me.
