Manic mindfulness

Be still now my friend and sit with the silence,
Show inner peace; steer clear from the violence.

To live upon this earth so loud,
It helps to keep one's head above clouds.

Notice, listen, and sense your breath,
Our time is finite; all soon meet death.

Slow your pace in case you trip,
Embrace the venture ‘fore timeless ships.

Cast away those warring thoughts,
Rescued from those battles fought.

To live in pain and constant angst,
Withholds a life of grace and thanks.

To slow things down helps notice more,
Take burden from your calloused paws.

Inhale the rich and vibrant air,
Release the tension, grief, and care.

As I sit with myself in silence and calm,
I'm in control with life's reins in my palms.

Open your eyes once more to the world,
Allowing your mind to stretch and unfurl.

As I'll soon be a father to new life,
I must keep away from conflict and strife.

Peace, love, and tranquility,
Are there for the taking, believe you me.
